Seamless Primary Suite Oasis
When our clients approached us about adding a porch off their master bedroom, we knew we had to take the project to the next level. This wouldn't just be any ordinary porch - it needed to be a true oasis that blended seamlessly with the existing home.
The biggest challenge was ensuring the addition looked like it was originally part of the house, not an afterthought. We started by matching the shaker siding style and roofing materials so the exterior blended perfectly. Careful insulation ensured it felt just like another room indoors.
But inside is where the oasis magic happens. Bright white board and batten walls are complemented by luxury vinyl plank flooring in a beautiful white oak look. The pine ceiling was stained to achieve that same rich oak tone, helping the space feel warm and inviting.
The true showstopper is the floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with the reclaimed timber mantel from our friends at Manomin Resawn Timbers. Choosing unique pieces is always an enjoyable process. Manomin Resawn Timbers has a beautifully designed showroom where our clients can personally select their preferred mantel. However, in this particular project, our clients were unable to visit the showroom due to logistical challenges. As a result, the company's staff provided us with pictures of mantels, and we were able to choose the ideal mantel virtually. It turned out gorgeous and chic sconces flank each side, providing perfect ambient lighting for cozy nights inside this private retreat.
To achieve the perfect indoor/outdoor flow, we installed double doors that open from the master bedroom right onto the porch overlooking the backyard pool. The clients loved the look of black windows on the interior, so we customized the windows to be black-framed inside and white outside to match the home's exterior.
The end result is a luxurious yet casual living space that feels like the perfect extension of the home's master suite. Our clients can now lounge fireside, take in the view, and create lasting memories in their own personal oasis.
